Patients & Families Living with Your Guardian See Doctor Alert

See Doctor Alert

See Doctor Alert

What Does a See Doctor Alert Sound Like?

When an See Doctor alert occurs, the Implanted Device (IMD) in your chest vibrates and your External Device (EXD) beeps and also flashes the See Doctor light. The See Doctor alert uses a single repeating beep pattern.

Move your mouse cursor over the animation to the right to see a See Doctor alert on the EXD.

Responding to a See Doctor Alert

The See Doctor alert is a less urgent warning. It indicates the Guardian has detected a condition that your doctor should be informed of, but doesn't require immediate attention. Of course if you have heart attack symptoms you should call 911.

If you receive a See Doctor alert, you should:

Calling
  • Call your doctor right away and make an appointment to see him or her in a day or two.
Checking the EXD
  • Look at the back of your EXD and follow any instructions written on the label.
Silencing the alarm
  • Silence the See Doctor alert using your External device (EXD).
To do this, place the External device over your implanted device (IMD) and press the button on the EXD.
Carrying the EXD
  • Take your EXD with you to your appointment.
Caution: Investigational Device. Limited by United States law to investigational use.
